An artisanal bakery in a small village in the Netherlands is closing its doors. It is the end of a family business that lasted for over three generations. The filmmakers Mathijs Hendrix and Alexander Vivas spent several weeks in the place, following with their camera not only the preparations that had to be made, but also the personal arguments and evocations involved. The Last Bread is a log of vanishing peculiarities and a cinematographic journal of changes in a rural community in the 21st century.
